Has anyone been to one of these? If so, was it worth it? There are two coming up in the NYC area next month and I'm thinking of going with my dd. TIA!

We went to one last weekend and it was a lot of fun. However, we also knew several of the models, which added to the fun.

The young girls modeled historical meet outfits, holiday outfits and nightclothes; modern meet outfit (sorry don't recall the name), the new pink PJs and star PJs, the cherry chocolate outfits for Bitty and AG, the Bitty nightgown; dress-up costumes including the Bitty princess set, flapper outfit, Grecian Princess outfit; and Marisol in her meet outfit.

They had separate raffles for the new Felicity and Elizabeth doll set as well as a Bitty collection with doll, bed and some other items. In addition, they gave away 5-6 door prizes (no purchase) that included Coconut, a set of the self-help books, a gift basket from Bath & Body Works, and a few other things I don't remember. No one at our table won anything.

You could purchase "Spirit Sparkle Shine" t-shirts and baseball caps for your daughter and her doll. I want to say it was something around $25-$30 to outfit my daughter and her doll with shirts and hats. The girl-sized t-shirts came in two sizes: Medium (8-10) and large (10-12). My 4-year-old can use hers for a nightgown.

Each girl got a goody bag with a magic wand (they wave these at the end to show their spirit), a name tag with star stickers to decorate, a pencil, purple plastic star clip-on earrings, an American Girl Fashion Show pencil, a souvenir booklet they can use to get autographs at the end and some big sparkly stars (don't know what they're for). Adults did NOT get a goody bag, although we had a brother at our table whose sister was one of the models and was more than happy to share his treats with the girls at the table.

After the show, you could meet the models and get autographs (they sign them Felicity, Samantha, etc.) This is a great time to take pictures (it's too dark during the show), and we got pictures of DD with the Samanthas, Mollys, Kits, Felicitys and Josefinas in meet and holiday clothes. After that, she was ready to go eat and we didn't make it to the others.

We got a snack of cheese-and-turkey kabobs on large toothpicks, a chocolate chip cookie, a flower-shaped sugar cookie with pink sprinkles, crackers, a Hi-C juice box, and some grapes.

Our tickets were $24, and $18 of that was tax-deductible. Also, you can get a catalog with a special code that gives the benefitting charity a percentage of your next order.

We had a great time, and DD decided to invite a table full of girls for a future birthday party, which coincides with the event each year. (We might get an AG party and make a slumber party too.)

It was a lot of fun to see the girls dressed up like their dolls - and to see the different dolls. The dolls at our table included Felicity, Samantha, Nellie, Molly, Kit and Kailey.

Oh, this really surprised me - there was no good reason to get there early. We had reserved seating and they didn't even open the doors until about 5 minutes before the start time. People who came early were just standing in line outside.

Another thing that was interesting: Little Rock is pretty small city-wise (we have 200,000), and all day you could spot girls with dolls in shops and restaurants throughout the city. Our favorite kid-friendly restaurant where we ate looked like a satellite AG cafe.

Thanks balletmom for the quick response and detailed review!

It sounds like a lot of fun. Although, the two places having this fundraiser are charging $30-$35! So I still have some thinking to do. It seems as if your town turned into AG City for a day! Thanks again.
